As you plan your party here are some important facts we invite you to remember:
- Currently, there are more people living with HIV/AIDS in North Carolina than ever before and the number of new cases increases every year—particularly on college campuses.
- As of 2004, 3,500 people living with HIV reside in the Triangle alone.
- As of 2002, our average client-to-staff ratio is 130 to 1.
- Due to rising rates of HIV infection and those in need of service, we see on average 5 new clients per week.
- 45% of our clients are women and 20% have children.
- Your generosity has allowed us to effectively serve clients who made over 7,380 visits to our Food Pantry last year.
- And your support has helped ACRA improve and expand housing options for persons living with HIV and AIDS in Durham.
We remember the impact of HIV/AIDS on our world. We remember those lost, those living and those we must protect. And we thank you for remembering, too.
