Evening with Friends is a fund raiser of the AIDS Community Residence Association (ACRA) and the Alliance of AIDS Services • Carolina (AASC), which includes Member Organizations AIDS Service Agency of North Carolina (ASANC), AIDS Service Agency of Orange County (ASAOC), Triangle AIDS Interfaith Network (TRAIN). All proceeds will be distributed between the AIDS Community Residence Association (ACRA) and the Alliance of AIDS Services • Carolina (AASC). These non-profit organizations provide direct services, advocacy, and education about HIV/AIDS.
How does Evening with Friends work as a fund raiser? Evening with Friends is made up of a series of parties hosted by people like YOU all over the Triangle. You invite your friends for dinner, cocktails, pizza - whatever - they make a donation to Evening with Friends. It's thousands of people working toward a single cause - to raise funds for local AIDS organizations. These funds provide much-needed services for people living with HIV/AIDS, and they help prevent thousands of other people from being affected - all right here in the Triangle.
The event ends with a celebration - the Evening with Friends Gala, a coffee and dessert social to thank hosts and their guests for their contributions and for making each party a success.
It's for everyone.
The menu and the theme are up to you - hot dogs or haute cuisine, black tie or blue jeans. Have a small, intimate gathering or an enormous bash people will be talking about for years to come.
You decide whom to invite. Very few people turn down a party invitation when it's for a great cause, and an Evening with Friends party will receive very few regrets. So, consider your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors.
There is no such thing as a donation that's "too small or too large." The invitations provided by Evening with Friends ask for a donation, but you set the minimum amount for your party.
At a time when new medications can delay the onset of AIDS, many people living with HIV/AIDS cannot afford treatment. The annual cost of medications can exceed $10,000. Every donation helps.
Once we receive your response card, we will provide you with advice, invitations, donation receipts, and gala tickets.
Evening with Friends Gala will be on the grounds of the North Carolina Museum of Art Saturday, April 27, 2002 from 8:00-11:00 PM. For non-host and non-guest, tickets can also be purchased for $25.00 at the door. Click for directions
